Into the Age Beyond
When time is full from eating lives,
And lets the first soul slip into infinity,
Then the age of man
Will be forgotten
Into the age beyond
As one of countless,
Forgettable ages past.
And the men who time remembers
Will weep the more bitterly
For knowledge of the age beyond.
Beyond their poorly timed births.
They will jump and leap
And build ridiculous ladders,
And brew ill fated potions,
To try and magic their way beyond.
But they will scream and wail
And beg to stay in the age of man
When time comes
To swallow them down
Into the age of death.
And the age beyond
Has already forgotten to remember.
